The AJS 350 Model 16 was moderately priced, economical, simple transportation: A working man’s machine. AJS also produced in a 500cc version, the Model 18. This bike was identical to the Matchless G3/L that was a favorite of dispatch riders in World War II. Matchless and its sister machine, AJS, were manufactured in London, the majority of the industry being in the Birmingham area int he Midlands of Britain.
